Sidearm plus accesory
So it's not long off until I go to the SFX Weekender in Camber Sands, so I thought it was about time I put the finishing touches on my costume and accessories for the Masquerade Ball on the saturday night. I'm happy to report that a dress rehearsal for the costume went well - the ensemble works but might be a little bit warm but it's worth it albeit avery understated for the amount it cost me to get the bits to put it together.
I've also been working on a steampunk sidearm for the event. I bought one of these:
and decided to brush off my long dormant modelling skills and see what I could transform it into...( click here for my final result.Collapse )
I might have a few more tweaks but I am pleased with my results :)

I reported the two spammers to LJ as bots. Please remove their entries. As much as I love watching lesbian erotica, I really don't want to see it on my Steampunk Communities. ;)

Hello, I am producing a short Steampunk film called 'Nickel Children,' that will be shot during the
first week of April.
The director and I would like to get as many Steampunk designers on board
so that we can create the fantastic world we have envisioned, as well as
spread the Steampunk style to a greater audience. We are on a tight budget
and are looking for people willing to donate, or lend, items to us for the
production in return for credit on the film. All pieces will be in the
care of an experienced prop master.
You can take a look at our website at http://nickelchildren.eslingerfilm.com
Please let us know if this would be something you would be interested in.
Thank you so much for your time.

a mandate from The Steampunk Empire
Dear Citizens of the Empire,
Like any empire or dynasty we need to expand, and expand we shall! Which is why the Empire is calling upon your help to broaden our territories across the aether waves and spread the name of the Empire to all four (plus an infinite amount of others) corners of the Web.
Wherever there is a forum in which fellow steampunks seek others who share their styles and tastes, be sure to share the proud name Steampunk Empire
(and provide them with the site's address).
In particular the Empire feels that she deserves a link on Wikipedia, as its fine article on Steampunk is typically the first hit on search engines for that beautiful keyword. Who will step forward in service of the Empire and make the necessary edit?
Meanwhile . . . Viva La Empire!
PS: This month the Empire is going to hold a design contest for a spiffing and spanking new logo. So to those with graphic design talents, watch out for the contest posting coming soon!

very cool designs
not perfect war machines but pretty close...its Wells fault for describing them as looking kind of funky (not literally but you know what i mean, he had just seen an exhibit of marine life in London and that obviously influenced his decision to make them look like metal jellyfish)

I just thought I would tease you all with a horrible photo of what I have been working on lately. It is a receptacle for a singing tumor. A sort of reliquary. The tumor itself came from the belly of a renowned belly dancer and it is the size of a baseball. The base is an all oak hexagon with brass accents (what else?). The jar is held on with a steel cage. It has a light under the jar and a sound system built in so it will sing. You are seeing one of the backsides with an industrial plug system being utilized to keep it alive. I will post the final shots when I am done. I still have a long way to go. It will also receive a custom sleeping cover of velvet with a tassel on the top and curtain that will be able to be pulled open to reveal the tumor suspended in the center of the jar. Enjoy( Larger PhotoCollapse )

Testing the Travels of Time... Strap
This Watch Cuff was discovered on the wrist of an iceman who was found among the hills of the Antarctic. We found that with time travel only gears and leather could pass through the vortex leaving behind any digital objects. This man, thought to have been frozen since the Mesozoic period, was a poor lost soul of DinoCo, a company using time travel to learn about the past. The watch is all wind up with nothing but leather and brass holding it together. The leather is strong and thick and there are clock gears throughout. This piece of history is being sold off at the link below.
But seriously, bills are pilling up and Trundle manor is being run into the proverbial mud. The collection will never be sold but I am making another attempt to produce my signature cuffs. I hope you visit my link. and help keep the modern wunderkammer afloat. This is the ORIGINAL Miriello Time Strap. Someone was trying to copy my strap exactly before and sell it, which is stealing to me. I hope you all appreciate the original by its inovator more.
